Here Is Where ‘Selling Sunset’ Mary Bonnet Stands On Chrishell & Nicole Drama
While Chrishell Stause wasted no time bashing Nicole Young repeatedly before the season's premiere, Mary Bonnet took days to respond.
The "Selling Sunset" drama continues, with castmate Mary Bonnet choosing between Chrishell Stause and Nicole Young.
The eighth season of the Netflix show switched its usual real estate theme for a controversial cheating scandal involving one of its stars, Emma Hernan. The gist of the story is Nicole spreading rumors about her co-star.
While Chrishell Stause wasted no time bashing Nicole Young repeatedly before the season's premiere over her false tales, Mary Bonnet took days to respond. However, she chose a surprising stance.
Mary Bonnet Wants No Part In Nicole Young's Feud With Chrishell Stause
Although Mary was part of the group Nicole told about the alleged cheating rumor, the reality TV star claimed she immediately knew she wouldn't resonate with her story. In a recent interview, she recalled her initial reaction, claiming:
"I don't want any part of this. Emma is a very sweet girl, and I feel bad for her being portrayed like that."
Mary stressed that she was not on Nicole's side, noting that she didn't know why her co-star had it out for Emma. "We didn't know she was gonna do that. I don't think any of us even thought anything about it," she told US Weekly.
"So I don't know why it got brought up. I still don't remember why it was brought up. But it's going to cause some problems for sure," the 44-year-old continued, noting Nicole should never have aired the rumor on TV.
Mary Feels Bad For Emma Hernan Following The Cheating Rumor
Mary doubled down on having nothing to do with Nicole's allegations, stressing that she had "no idea" where the rumors came from. She expressed sadness over Emma's involvement in the unflattering speculation, saying:
"Emma explained it to me, but it was nothing like what Nicole said. So I just feel really bad that she's going to be put into that light."
"In my opinion, even if something like that happened, I don't agree with it. But you don't do that to the world — you don't blast someone out like that," Mary slammed Nicole, noting that Emma did not deserve such treatment.
"I feel bad. She doesn't deserve to be called out like that. Especially the fact that it's not true," the 44-year-old continued. She noted that the person Nicole painted differed from Emma's personality as "she's very picky with who she dates."
What Did Nicole Say About Emma?
While Emma has not publicly reacted to the cheating rumor, May claimed she was "extremely upset" once she found out about the allegations. So what did Nicole say about her co-star?
The Blast reported the drama began on episode five of the new "Selling Sunset" series, with Nicole sharing the alleged rumor while dining with castmates Mary, Amanza Smith, and newcomer Alanna Gold.
Nicole claimed she knew a "morally upsetting" rumor about Emma that could "really affect families, marriages, and Emma's reputation." Although the others begged her to stay silent, the TV personality continued:
"As a married woman, that kind of sh-t pisses me off. If I were the wife, I'd f—ing kill someone."
Nicole Encourages A Co-star To Weaponize The Rumor
Nicole spread the rumor to fellow castmate Bre Tiesi, urging her to use it as "ammo" in her feud against co-stars Chelsea Lazkani and Emma. The women fell out after Bre announced that Chelsea's husband was allegedly cheating.
"I think it's real interesting for Emma, in particular, to comment on other people's marriages," Nicole told Bre about Emma's involvement in Chelsea's case, adding:
"Because I've heard some gray things in terms of that. I would be careful in her position because she's been involved with people she shouldn't have been."
Although Emma never got to clear her name on the show, her pal Chrishell vehemently bashed Nicole for spreading the "damaging" rumor. She defended her friend days before the "Selling Sunset" season 8 premiere.
Chrishell Stause Threatens To Quit Over Nicole Young's Behavior
Chrishell aired her grievances against Nicole in a candid interview, slamming her for trampling on others to gain fame. "The only time she's ever made headlines is trying to take down me and now Emma," she claimed.
She bashed Netflix for allowing Nicole's antics to continue, saying, "It's unfortunate that she was given the platform to do it again and Emma not be given the chance to defend herself." On that note, Chrishell threatened to quit "Selling Sunset."
The real estate agent declared she would "never work on a show with her again," adding: "After eight seasons and seeing someone systematically try to plot against several people... Why are we giving her more airtime?"
Since Mary Bonnet is the latest to side with Chrishell Stause in her feud with Nicole Young, will other "Selling Sunset" stars follow the same trend?
