Two sisters, aged 2 and 4, drown in Long Island pond after mother falls asleep

Two young sisters, aged 2 and 4, lost their lives after drowning in a pond behind their Long Island apartment complex in New York State. The incident occurred around 3:15 pm on Saturday. They were found shortly after being reported missing and pronounced dead at Stony Brook University Hospital. Authorities are currently investigating the case.
