Meghan Markle has shared that she is embracing a new chapter in her life, expressing gratitude for her experiences.

The Duchess of Sussex recently attended Oprah Winfrey's book club launch, which featured notable guests and highlighted Meghan and Prince Harry's status as "hometown heroes."

Meghan Markle and Oprah Winfrey's close friendship has been known since 2020 when the media mogul attended her wedding to Prince Harry and then held an explosive interview, discussing their struggles with the royal family.

At Winfrey's book club session at the Goodmothers bookstore in Summerland, California, Meghan made a stunning appearance in a black sleeveless collared jumpsuit.

The event, which coincided with Queen Elizabeth II's death anniversary, also featured notable guests like actor Marco Leone, astrologer and psychologist Dr. Jennifer Freed, and psychic medium Laura Lynne Jackson, who all shared highlights of Meghan's appearance on their Instagram stories.

Meghan recently opened up about embracing a "chapter of joy" in her life, noting that she is genuinely grateful for her experiences.

"I'm looking at this time as my chapter of joy," the duchess said, per the Daily Mail. "The more you are able to look at your life and really, truly recognize and be able to be grateful for your life - you have to be grateful for all aspects of it."

"My intentionality is to enjoy this chapter and be able to love through every piece of this as best we can," the 43-year-old royal added.

While the exact details of Meghan's speech remain unclear, it was well-received, with psychic medium Jackson calling Meghan one of the night's "light-filled speakers."

Jennifer Rudolph Walsh, the co-owner of the bookstore celebrating its grand opening, also praised Meghan and Harry as "hometown heroes."

In a promotional video, Walsh proudly displayed Harry's memoir "Spare" alongside other local authors' works. Meghan's 2021 children's book, "The Bench," was also featured prominently on the shelf.

"This is our local author's shelf when you first walk in," Walsh said. "I want it to be when you first walk in so that authors who are local to the area know that this is their hometown bookstore. And we celebrate our hometown authors as if they were our hometown heroes because to us they are."

It's no surprise that Meghan was invited to Winfrey's book club session. The two ladies have maintained a close friendship for several years, with Winfrey attending Meghan and Harry's royal wedding in May 2018.

Since the Sussexes moved to their $14 million Montecito mansion, located near Oprah's home, their bond seems to have deepened.

In March 2021, Winfrey conducted an explosive 85-minute interview with Meghan and Harry, where they made several damaging allegations against the royal family.

Winfrey also offered her thoughts on whether the couple should attend King Charles' coronation in May 2023.

On "CBS Mornings," she remarked, "I think they should do what they feel is best for them and their family. That's what I think," while clarifying that they hadn't asked for her opinion.

Ultimately, Harry attended the coronation of his father alone and left the U.K. shortly after the ceremony to return to California, where his son Prince Archie was celebrating his fourth birthday.

Since they stepped down from their roles as working royals, several have wondered if the Sussexes would ever return to the U.K. and make peace with the royal family.

Unfortunately, that seems unlikely due to the various issues that have caused a rift between both parties to widen, especially with revelations made in Harry's "Spare" memoir and the infamous Oprah interview.

Also, the Duke of Sussex has stated he would not bring his wife and kids to the U.K. due to his unresolved security issues.

In an interview for ITV's documentary "Tabloids on Trial," Harry made his stance on the security matter clear.

"It's still dangerous," the prince said, per People Magazine, emphasizing that "all it takes is one lone actor, one person who reads this stuff to act on what they have read."

He continued: "Whether it's a knife or acid, whatever it is, these are things that are of genuine concern for me. It's one of the reasons why I won't bring my wife back to this country."

Christopher Andersen, author of "The King," told Fox News Digital that Meghan "would be perfectly happy never setting foot in the U.K. again."

"Harry and Meghan have a fairly idyllic life in California, regardless of what their critics like to imagine," Andersen explained. "Meghan probably came to terms with their situation… with the royal family much earlier than Harry has – if indeed he has."

"Meghan is more of a realist and realized early on that the monarchy and those who control it are intractable. That goes for the king and the rest of the royal family," Andersen added.
